Lukas Mester has been taking photographs since 2014, and soon came into contact with film, working exclusively in black and white ever since. In his photography he frees himself from the principle of reality. Photography offers him the possibility to change the supposedly objective reality in his sense and to explore the perceived experiences in their depth and to become creatively engaged in them. For this purpose he compresses the elements in his photographs and removes the subjects from their context.
